The new railway station is located at the core area of Yangzhou new eco-technology city with an area of 40 Ha. The conceptual idea of the station building is to overlap the rational rigid space layout of the functional requirements with a poetic curvilinear roof

which symbolizes the tradition of Yangzhou culture. To achieve this, we started with the Chinese character “ 個(gè)”, which resembles the shape of bamboo leaves or

the traditional curvilinear Chinese roof. A number of “ 個(gè)” connected with each other reminds of the traditional structure of the courtyard in Yangzhou old city. Station hotel and office buildings are located on both sides of the railway station. Commercial buildings and offices eco with the city center on the left side. A pedestrian street is set up in the waterfront of the business- oriented neighborhood with a SOHO building set in the corner. Commercial and office buildings are designed alongside the main street of the living area while residential buildings are set next to the landscape.
